Using Rubik's Cubes to Fight Dementia
Teach Rubik's Cubes to seniors through workshops at retirement homes and hospitals
“I started speedcubing in sixth grade and spent years volunteering and teaching kids how to solve the Rubik’s Cube. While I loved helping younger students, I also noticed that seniors were often left out of these activities and that WCA competitions didn’t have as many senior participants as I thought they could have. It’s been incredible to see how something as small as the Rubik's Cube can spark social interaction and provide valuable cognitive stimulation for seniors. My goal with Cubes for a Cure is to help as many seniors as possible to fight the effects of dementia and accomplish something new!”
